Diaper Rash Salve
Submitted by: Melanie

Ingredients:
4 oz  Olive or Apricot Oil
1 - 2 oz  Beeswax or wax of choice
1 oz  Calendula Petals

Directions
Infuse the calendula petals into the oil (let it sit in the windowsill for a
week or two) or heat it until the properties from the calendula have steeped
into the oil. Strain the petals from the oil. Mix the oil and beeswax
together, stirring while melting the beeswax on low heat. Pour mixture into
a container, and let cool. For a softer balm, use less wax. For a harder
balm, use more.

Whipped Shea
Submitted by: Jodi

Ingredients:
1 ounce  Shea Butter
0.5 oz  "light" oil

Directions
Ok, this is really easy. Melt the two together and whip like crazy for about
two minutes. I used as hand whisk.
Put the mixture into the freezer for about 4 minutes. (The original recipe I
got called for 5 minutes, but I found that to be too long) Pull it out of
the freezer and whip again for another two minutes. Continue doing this as
many times as it takes to turn the mixture into a frosting like consistancy.
It took me four rounds.

You can use any kind of oil you want, really. Right now, I'm using Unrefined
Avocado Oil with an herbal infusion that I "created" that really helps my
excema. I may in the future, switch to Flax Seed Oil or Evening Primrose, or
who knows??? The opportunities are endless!!!

Basic Body Butter / Lotion Bar / Massage Bar
Submitted by: Jennifer Collymore

Ingredients:
1 Part  Beeswax
1 Part  Cocoa OR Shea Butter
1 Part  Carrier Oil
1 Part  Skin-Safe Fragrance or Essential Oil

Directions
** Do no use both Cocoa Butter & Shea. Cocoa Butter will make a slightly
harder bar, Shea Butter will make a slightly softer bar. ** Add Beeswax,
Carrier Oil of choice and Butter of choice to a microwave safe container. A
Pyrex Measuring Glass works best for cleanup purposes. Melt in 20 second
increments until all is melted. Stir well. Add Fragrance of Essential Oil,
and stir well. Pour in a Melt & Pour Soap mold, Push Up Stick, or Deodorant
Container and let harden overnight. ** This recipe can also be used for Lip
Balm, by using a Skin-Safe Flavor Oil instead of the Fragrance of Essential
Oil. **

Foot Soothin Butter/Balm
Submitted by: Dan Lee

Ingredients:
3 oz  Beeswax
2 oz  Tapioca Starch (or corn starch)
2 oz  Apricot Kernel
1 oz  Jojoba
3 oz  Mango Butter
3 oz  Shea Butter
..15 oz  Peppermint EO
..15 oz  Camphor

Directions
I made this for my mom and my sister for their feet! In Hawaii they walk
bare foot a lot. Mom swears by it! Directions: Melt the beewax, oils and
butters in a double boiler. Don't get too hot! Shea can sometimes go grainy
tho I have never had the problem. Once all melted add the Tapioca Starch. I
use tapioca starch cause it seems to me to be more silky, you can use Corn
Starch if you want. Blend until smooth. Add the EO's. you can use whatever
you want but the combination of Peppermint and Camphor is soooo soothing to
the footsies! Some people don't like the smell of camphor.. that is ok,this
isn't suppose to be a smell good thing, but a feel good thing. Pour into
your containers. That's it. Dan

Bursitus Away
Submitted by: Steve

Ingredients:
1-2 Drops  Oregano e/o
1-2Drops  Wintergreen e/o
10 Drops  Olive Oil

Directions
This is what I use to handle the bursitis I get infrequently in my shoulder.
Have the Olive Oil or some vegetable oil handy because this one can get hot!
You will smell like a wintergreen pizza, so do this before bed time and
apologize to your spouse ahead of time. Put 1 drop of Oregano essential oil
on the affected joint then put 1-2 drops of Wintergreen on the same area.
Take a warm wash cloth and put it over the area and cover with a towel. This
will help get the oils into the joint tissue. In a few minutes it may get
hot. If you are not familiar with working with Oregano, I suggest you don't
put the warm compress on the first time. If the area gets too hot, you can
remove the sting with a bit of Olive Oil or Vegetable oil. Bursitis can be
an early stage of arthritis, so see you health care provider.

I've never actually bought bees wax before (at least not in "ingredient format")
where does one look to find these kinds of bees wax and bees wax beads?

You might try a health food store or a largish craft store, The Hobby Lobby near me has lotion and soap making ingredients. They may also have the type of bees wax to use for these recipes.

A lot of these would also benefit from having a couple of vitamin E capsules broken into them, as its very good for the skin.
I always add it to my sugar scrubs.
