LAVENDER BUBBLE BATH

Bunch of Lavender
1 large bottle clear organic shampoo
5 drops lavender oil

Place the bunch of lavender (heads down) in a clean
screw top jar. (Cut the stalks as much as needed so
you can fit the lid on the jar). Add the shampoo and
lavender essential oil. Close the jar and place on a
sunny windowsill for 2 - 3 weeks shaking occasionally.
Strain the liquid and rebottle.

HERBAL BATH BAGS (makes 3)

6 tbsp. bran (or fine oatmeal)
1 tbsp. lavender flowers
1 tbsp. chamomile flowers
1 tbsp. rosemary tips
3 x 9 inch muslin circles
3 small rubber bands
3 yards narrow ribbon

Place 2 tablespoons bran in the center of each muslin
circle. Add lavender to one, chamomile to second and
rosemary to third. Gather material up with rubber band
and tie with ribbon.

LAVENDER SOAP
I just found this recipe I made for Christmas gifts one year.
They looked so pretty wrapped up in bundles with some
organza ribbon and a little silk flower hot glued to the middle
of the bow.

4 oz. unperfumed white soap, grated
5 tbsp. water
3 tbsp. dried lavender flowers, ground (I used a food processor)
1-2 drops lavender essential oil
1 drop food coloring (optional)
vegetable oil

Cardboard tubes (you can just make these using some white
cardboard and masking tape - you want them to be about the
thickness of a cigar. Tape up one end well, so the mixture
doesn't run out)

Place the soap and water in a large bowl and place in the
microwave on high for 2 - 3 minutes (or melt over a pan of
simmering water). Stir the mixture and add the lavender, oil
and color (if using), mix well. Using a funnel pour the mixture
into the cardboard tubes, standing the tubes upright until the
soap sets (about 2 - 3 hours). Remove the mold and cut the
soap diagonally into short sticks. Polish with a few drops of
vegetable oil on a soft cloth.

Mint Foot Powder

Combine 1 cup talcum powder with 1/2 cup cornstarch,
1 tsp. peppermint essential oil and 1 tsp. vinegar. Keep
the powder in a sealed jar and use as a dusting powder
for the feet.

Lemon Foot Bath

Boil 8 cups of water. Add 5 sprigs of fresh or 10 sprigs
of dried lemon verbena leaves (rosemary can also be
used). Let stand till water is warm and comfortable. Pour
into a bowl and soak your feet from 10 - 20 minutes.
Rinse off with cold water.

Rosemary Rub

To 2 cups of odorless rubbing alcohol, add 1/2 cup of
freshly crushed rosemary leaves. You can also use
lemon verbena leaves or lavender. Put in a covered jar
and let sit or a week. Strain out the herbs and put in a
bottle. Rub gently on arms and legs.
